Katy Keenan joined the Grand Canyon athletics department in January 2021 and currently serves as the Assistant Athletic Director, Student-Athlete Development. Keenan oversees the daily operations of the Office of Student-Athlete Development, which provides academic support and student-athlete development to all 20 varsity teams.

She is the academic coordinator for the women’s basketball team. Additionally, she leads the Lopes for Life program, which provides comprehensive programming around academic achievement, career readiness, personal development, and community engagement while integrating spiritual growth.
Prior to GCU, Keenan served as a graduate assistant for career and student-athlete development at Texas Tech University for the J.T. and Margaret Talkington Leadership Academy. In her role, Keenan worked primarily with career development initiatives, including the Suited for Success Career Series, which won the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals "Model Practice Award" in 2019. She has also implemented a career development curriculum that produced a job placement rate of over 90% of participants within one year of graduation.

Keenan received her Master of Science in Sport Management from Texas Tech in 2020 and a Bachelor of Science in Retail Management. Keenan was also a four-year member of the women's volleyball team and led the team to their first post-season appearance since 2001.
