Jake Walkwitz joined Grand Canyon's Office of Student-Athlete Development in January of 2025 as an Academic Coordinator.
Walkwitz has worked in college athletics since 2019, most recently as a student recruitment coordinator at Arizona State, where he worked alongside the W.P. Carey School of Business.Â
Prior to Arizona State, Walkwitz was the Recruiting and Eligibility Coordinator at the University of California, Berkeley for nearly two years before being promoted to Associate Director of Recruiting and Eligibility. While in this role, he completed academic pre-evaluations and monitored eligibility for all incoming student-athletes for all 30 varsity sports. Prior to that position, Walkwitz was a Compliance Coordinator for the University of California, Irvine.Â
Walkwitz served as an Assistant Director for Compliance at Coastal Carolina University, preparing monthly compliance educational rules documents for coaches, student-athletes, and boosters for all 19 varsity sports.Â
He began working in athletics in August of 2019 as an athletic compliance intern for Harvard University.Â
Walkwitz aims to passionately pursue Jesus in all that he does and to put his faith before everything else. He is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Florida State University in 2019 and a Master of Science in Sport Management from Florida State in 2021.Â
