Women's Basketball To Play In Inaugural Gulf Coast Showcase

Grand Canyon's women's basketball team will be part of the inaugural Gulf Coast Showcase at the Germain Arena in Estero, Fla. The tournament will be held over Thanksgiving weekend.
The Antelopes join an impressive field that includes: UCLA, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, North Carolina State, James Madison, Wright State and Southeastern Louisiana.
GCU will open against Mississippi State and will follow against the winner/loser of the UCLA-Wright State contest.
The tournament begins Friday Nov. 29. The Antelopes will play three games.
"There's a lot of great talent in the tournament. There's not a bad team in the bunch," said GCU coach Trent May. "Each team will bring a high level of competitiveness and we'll have our hands full. This is a great opportunity to be in a tournament like this."
