Jallisa Butler was named Pacific West Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games contested Jan. 16-22. This is the second weekly honor for Butler this season, as she was also named player of the week for Dec. 5-11.
Butler averaged 12.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per game while going 12-for-18 from the field (66.7 percent) as the No. 12 ‘Lopes went 2-0 last week, getting a 65-49 win at Dixie State and 49-40 victory against Hawai’i Hilo. She posted her fifth double-double at Dixie State with 15 points and 18 rebounds.
Butler finished tops among all PacWest players in rebounding and ranked second in fielding percentage for the week.
GCU will next be in action when they host Hawai’i Pacific tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. before hitting the road for four games in Hawai’i, beginning with a matchup at BYU-Hawai’i on Jan. 28.
