GCU's Brock Hutchins was the team's leading hitter in each of its matches Saturday. Hutchins was co-team high in kills against Moody Bible with eight and led the team with 18 against St. Ambrose.

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- Grand Canyon’s men’s volleyball team split its final two games of the Fighting Bee Classic at St. Ambrose University Saturday.
GCU defeated Moody Bible 3-0 by set scores of 30-16, 30-12, 30-20 and lost to NAIA No. 4 St. Ambrose 3-1 by scores of 30-25, 32-34, 30-26, 30-26.
Against GCU is 11-16 overall and return to MIVA play Tuesday at home with a 7 p.m. contest against Ball State.
In the Moody Bible match, sophomore Brock Hutchins had eight kills, nine assists and five block assists. Freshman Connor Dougherty had eight kills and frosh setter Brad Moore had 28 assists.
Against St. Ambrose, GCU had four players with double-digit kills. Hutchins led the way with 18. Freshman Chris Lockwood had 11, while freshman Tyler Capko and sophomore Taylor Griffin each had 10. Capko added eight digs and three service aces. Sophomore Nick Jensen had nine kills and five block assists. Moore had 55 assists and freshman libero Trent Bruns had 12 digs.
