Kevin Warren was an instrumental member of the Grand Canyon University men’s basketball team from 1984-86, during which time he scored 1,118 points for a 20.0 points per game average, fourth-best all-time in school history.

Warren’s 23.3 points per game average during the 1985-86 season is also the fourth-best in GCU basketball history. His 42-point effort on Nov. 17, 1984 against Concordia College ranks as the fourth-highest single-game scoring effort in school history. Additionally, he was twice named a NAIA Academic All-American.

Warren earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration in 1986 from GCU, his master’s degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University in 1988 and his juris doctorate degree from the University of Notre Dame School of Law in 1990.

Warren became President of the NFL's Chicago Bears in 2022 after serving three years as Commissioner of the Big Ten Conference (2019-2022). He was the first and only Black commissioner in the history of Power Five conferences. Previously, Warren served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Minnesota Vikings. He was the highest-ranking Black executive working on the business side for an NFL franchise, serving 21 seasons with the league, including 15 with the Vikings.
Warren is the sixth individual from the GCU basketball family to be inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame, joining T.C. Dean, (1957-59), David Everett (1971-76), Bayard Forrest (1972-76), Ben Lindsey (1965-81) and Dr. Jim Rice (1967-71).
